G4TechTV:
The Screen Savers - Ver. 3

Okay, I got a minute to share my feelings, evaluations, and attitudes about the NEW (once again) G4TechTV version of The Screen Savers. What are we calling this one now, Version 3? I just watched it for the first time last night.

If we watch it today and compare it to its former Leo Laporte and Patrick Norton days, we're gonna be disappointed BIG TIME! But, if we watch it with the attitude that it's a whole new show in and of itself, it takes a little bit of the twinge out of the initial shock. I will say one thing, however, if it's supposed to be a totally different show, then take the TSS logos, music, and name OFF the thing and let it have its own beginning!

First of all, let me say that I feel sorry for poor Alex Albrecht and the way he was done. I would backslide big time (and probably end up in jail) if I worked for a ruthless employer who did me that way. However, I have to admit that I'm glad he's not on the show anymore. He's a little too loud for my taste, but that's just me. I do wish him the best in whatever his next venture might entail as he moves ahead in his career.

Kevin Pereira is the new host of G4TechTV The Screen Savers, Version 3. Click here to read his bio. This new guy, Kevin Pereira, who's hosting the show now (remember, I'm not comparing him to Leo or Patrick Norton because if I did, he wouldn't have a chance [can you tell I love and miss Leo and Patrick?]) is going to do just fine. He's quieter, calmer, more mature, more stable and a lot more focused. As a matter of fact, I'm going to crawl out on the limb on this one. I'm going to actually give this new version 3 a chance. I believe this new host will only get better, and from what I saw last night, he wasn't bad at all coming out of the gate.

Chi-Lan Lieu is the new co-host of G4TechTV The Screen Savers, Version 3. Click here to read her bio. Chi-Lan Lieu is the new co-host. I have no comment about her at this time other than she is pretty and has a great personality. She and Sarah Lane seem to meld well together, and just like two guys hosting a show need to blend their talents, even more (I think anyway) two women need to complement one another. It appeared to me that Sarah and Chi-Lan get along, and it may take me a few more viewings of the show, but I think they even like each other. That's important and it'll show on the screen.

As for Kevin Rose and Sarah Lane ... I just love them, period! Now that we're up to version 3, they're the ONLY ones left who even qualify to be called "original TechTV TSS casts"! I don't know why they keep sticking it out, especially since they've had to watch what's been done to, not only their co-workers, but THEIR FRIENDS!

They may still be young in age and experience, but after all that's transpired over these last few grueling months, they've earned the right to be called veterans, at least as far as this show is concerned. Like I said though, I don't understand how or why they keep hanging on, but I'm sure they have their reasons.

In conclusion, no matter how good or how bad the present version of The Screen Savers gets, or whether I watch it or I don't, one thing will always continue steadfast. As long as I am alive and well on the World Wide Web, I will continue to promote, support, and uphold the legacy of the ORIGINAL TechTV, Leo Laporte and Patrick Norton, and ALL the original cast members, crews and management!

G4 - Comcast made a mockery of, and committed a grave injustice to, something (and many "someones") that I hold very dear to my heart, and I will relentlessly persevere in my efforts to inform the world of their misdeeds! Whether they make this version of "The Screen Savers" a show I'll enjoy or not, it'll never take away from the fact they are wrong, Wrong, WRONG in the way they do business and how they treat people!
